NEDC, Hands over International Cattle Market to Bauchi State, Summons Contractor handling Fistula Center Ningi.

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has officially handed over the Soro International Cattle Market Ganjuwa local government area to the Bauchi State Government.

The Executive Director, Operations, NEDC, Abdulsalam Yahaya Ahmed, said that the market is part of the commission’s efforts to promote economic activities in the North East subregion following devastation by insurgency.

He expressed confidence that the commission is confident that the cattle market will boast business  in Soro and Bauchi State taking into consideration  that the market is one of the biggest in terms of cattle sales in the area.

He commended Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for providing the land to the commission as well as the environment to embark on various developmental projects in the state.

The Managing Director/CEO of NEDC, Mohammed Goni Alkali said that the market is designed to be a major source of revenue and employment opportunities for the people of the state. 

The Bauchí State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce and Industry,while receiving the market, commended the Commission for the various interventions executed in the State 

Governor Bala explained that the Cattle Market will improve the revenue based of Bauchí state and Ganjuwa local government in particular.
Meanwhile, the contractor handling the construction of some structures at the Natural Obstetrics Fistula Center in Ningi, Local government of Bauchí State has been directed to report at the Commission headquarters in Maiduguri to answer some questions about the project.
The Commission Managing  Director give the directives while on an inspection visits to the Center in Ningi.
